Welcome to Rutland Water Benefice
We are a group of 10 parishes around the southern and eastern side of Rutland Water. All parishes have beautiful medieval churches where we seek to worship God and grow the Christian community.
The parishes are Edith Weston, Empingham, Lyndon, Manton, North Luffenham, Pilton, Preston, Ridlington, Whitwell and Wing.
Each parish usually has a regular pattern of worship and the services are listed in the Rutland Water Benefice calendar.
On 21st July 2024 Rector Rev'd Pippa Madgwick took her last sunday services for this Benefice so it is now in interregnum until the vacancy is filled.

Safeguarding
Rutland Water Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Alison Woods, whose details can be found in each church porch.

Our Ministry team
Since the recent retirement of the Rector Rev'd Pippa Madgwick, the ministry team is working on a greatly reduced basis during the current period of the interregnum. Rev'd Jo Saunders, is a retired priest assising the Benefice.
Each church usually has a churchwarden, who have many responsibilities including opening their parish church.
