Manton Good Neighbour Scheme

The Management Group of the Scheme has regretfully dissolved the Manton Good Neighbour Scheme (MGNS) due to its under use compared to the high cost of the annual insurance.

We would like to thank all who were involved in the scheme over the years for their support and time.

Despite this decision it is hoped that the good neighbourly spirit of help will be continued on an informal basis in the village.

The purpose of the Scheme was to provide short term help to the residents of Manton Parish for a number of different areas of assistance. Records, over the five years that the Scheme has been running, show that the majority of call outs have been for transport.

Transport needs for hospital appointments etc and visits further afield could be catered for by calling Voluntary Action Rutland (VAR) on 01572 724705 (between 9am and 12noon). VAR generally like you to give at least 5 days notice when booking. Find out more about VAR Community Transport Scheme.
